A Visual Storyteller

Not just a photographer,

I’m a photographer, mother, indoor plant enthusiast, Capricorn, lover of picnics, and a salt and vinegar chip addict.

In my spare time you will most likely find me at home, in my pyjamas, reading or begging my 5 year old to watch Harry Potter with me (again).

I genuinely love connecting with people, and being able to connect with my clients to ensure I can best tell their story through my lens is something I am very proud of.

I am so passionate about photography! I love it most for its ability to freeze moments in time, to document love in all of its wild and wonderful forms, and to tell unique stories without using words.

A Little About me

Hello

I'm

Mia

Hello

I'm

Mia

I'm a hopeless romantic and a lover of literature, it's unsurprising all my favourite books are love stories. I'm also a huge fan of Shakespeare (you've probably already guessed that my favourite is Romeo and Juliet), and romantic poetry.

I have absolutely no musical talent to speak of but I am a great lover of all kinds of music and have pretty eclectic tastes. Some of my favourite musicians are Spacey Jane, Dashboard Confessional, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Oasis, and The Rolling Stones.

I'm a creature of habit and love returning to things I've already watched/read/listened to because they are comforting and familiar. I've lost count of how many times I've watched Gilmore Girls and Criminal Minds through.

I love movies, some of my favourites are The Blind Side, Everybody Wants Some, Now and Then, Saving Private Ryan ,and Remember the Titans.

I haven't done much travelling but I have a huge list of places I am dying to visit, the top of the list being Italy and I recently started learning Italian. It's my dream to travel the world shooting beautiful and unique weddings for couples who are head over heels in love.

Why Sweet Valencia?

My Fav Things

My Philosophy

Behind the lens:

I have a deep appreciation for the little things, those endless tiny moments that make up a life. The goofy smiles and surprised faces. The whispers of "I love you" in the dark just before falling asleep. Family game nights every Friday. A toddler's face lighting up every time they see bubbles. Tiny sticky hands pressing against your cheeks when delivering a slobbery kiss.

I want to tell the story of you. Authentically. I want to document these everyday moments as the poetry they are.

So, if you make pancakes every Sunday in your underwear, let me come and capture it. If your first date was a picnic at King Edward Park, let's recreate it. If your family loves camping,
let me bring the marshmallows.

One day we will look back and realise that the accumulation of all those tiny moments are what really make up our lives

iron fence. Even though this photo was taken years before I was born it still brings back so many memories from my childhood.

When I look at this photo I think about the time my cousin and I were obsessed with Anne of Green Gables and had a tea party on the verandah (complete with puffy sleeved dresses), I remember the feel of grapes squishing under my feet while running underneath the grape vine out the back. I remember Pop's lolly jar and Nana's hugs, the smell of bacon cooking and the sound of the opening credits of Days of Our Lives.

My grandparents weren't big on taking photos. I don't have any photos of myself with them. But when I look at this photo of their home I can remember it all perfectly. My aim is to do this for my clients. To transport them back to the times that bring out the strongest feelings.

The Peschar Family

Our family photoshoot was everything we could have hoped and more. Mia made us feel extremely relaxed and comfortable to be ourselves which resulted in a beautiful selection of both candid and posed photos that felt like they encapsulated each of our personalities perfectly. Mia's approach with our toddler at the photoshoot was so natural and we really appreciated how respectful she was towards him.

Beck & Matt

I cannot recommend Mia highly enough. She made my partner and I incredibly comfortable throughout the whole session. Her communication was fantastic from start to finish. The final produced photos are absolutely stunning, as she captured exactly what I was hoping- the 'in-between' moments.

Caitlin & Kyle

We both went into the photoshoot feeling a little nervous but Mia immediately made us feel comfortable and confident, which let us enjoy the whole process and have fun!
Mia is so talented and provided a wonderful experience from start to finish. The photos we received from our shoot are absolutely stunning and surpassed all of our expectations.
We can't stop looking at them!!
